A great scene from "Twelve O'clock High" starring Gregory Peck ("To Kill a Mockingbird"). Peck plays General Frank Savage who has just been assigned to a B-17 heavy bomber group that is going through a serious bout of bad luck and terrible losses. The previous CO, a much loved commander named Keith Davenport, has just been relieved because of "over-attachment to his men". General Savage has been sent to whip the bomber group back into shape which he begins to do immediately with methods that, at first, do nothing to endear him to the men he is to lead.
In this scene, we see General Savage calling in Lt. Colonel Ben Gately, Air Exec to the previous group commander Keith Davenport. Savage blatantly accuses him of shirking his duty and outright cowardice. Notice that in this scene the camera never cuts away for a moment.
