Excerpt: I have attended numerous nights of hearings on the Monrovia Town Center at Winchester Hall and Urbana High School. Throughout this process I have learned to have very little respect for the president of the Board of County Commissioners, namely Blaine Young. He is consistently arrogant and possesses a demeanor of disgust toward the citizens who dare speak out against this project.
On April 10, he went too far. Blaine interrupted, berated and called a young mother a liar while she was testifying in opposition to the proposed development. This mother was testifying about an event she witnessed that would reflect poorly on Blaine's character. He loudly responded, "I take offense," then shouted she was lying and remonstrated that he would never act in such a manner.
